Most people start their day with a cup of coffee and for them brew taste really matters. It’s no secret that the grind significantly changes the brew taste. The grind needs to be well adjusted to get a perfect cup of coffee before you start a day. Changing grinder settings is a more simple and effective solution than using bottled water or obsessing over coffee filters. This is where the best coffee grinder comes in.

Types of Coffee Grinders

Before looking for a coffee grinder, you must decide whether you prefer a blade, burr, or manual model. Blade grinders function similarly to food processors, slicing beans into tiny bits with a blade. The longer you run your grinder, the finer the grind. Blade grinders are popular among beginners, do not achieve the same level of consistency as burr grinders, but they are smaller, less expensive, and faster to grind.

Burr grinders work better than blade grinders when it comes to coffee. Burr grinders use two revolving burrs with textured surfaces, making them better suited to dealing with coffee beans that are small and rounded.

Manual or hand grinders are the smallest and most affordable option than electric ones. Users grind beans with two burrs by cranking a handle, which takes time and effort. Manual grinders produce even grounds and can be adjusted to fit different sizes.

Baratza Sette 270

Baratza Sette 270

This coffee grinder is loved by everyone on the internet. you can find thousands of positive reviews about this coffee grinder. James Hoffmann a famous guy who do coffee products related reviews, mentioned this coffee grinder as the best in his videos for under $500.

The Sette 270 is a decent and affordable single dosing espresso grinder. It’s very easy to clean. It’s designed for home baristas first, not adapted from a commercial design, which is why it has so many features. It works perfectly well with a full hopper, providing consistent doses using its timed dose system, but it truly shines when used for single dosing.

Note: It’s very loud, If you want your partner to wake up every morning to the sounds of a jet engine failing? Then this is the grinder for you. Makes great espresso, though.

timemore 064s

Timemore 064S

The Timemore 064S is intended as a versatile grinder that can grind for both espresso and drip coffee. With this grinder it is very easy to switch back and forth with grind size from fine grind for espresso to coarser grind for drip.

This grinders works perfectly for both espresso and drip. You need to set the grinder dial between setting 2 and setting 3 for espresso, and it comes out perfectly done, much better than any other grinder.

The Timemore seems very well made, except for the off/on button, which feels a little cheap. Everything else is very solid and seems really well made. Another thing which users did not like is the hopper, it only holds about 25 grams of beans at a time which isn’t ideal for making a pot of drip coffee.

Another good this about this grinder is that it’s relatively quiet when grinding. As far as pricing goes, It is just under $350USD.

OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder

This grinder is the most affordable but believe me when I say that the results will amaze you. The consistency provided by the OXO coffee grinder’s stainless steel conical burrs will allow you to brew more well-rounded and complex coffee, particularly if you’re using a Chemex, French press, or drip coffee maker.

The grinder’s design is elegant and streamlined, with plenty of sleek stainless steel. My only complaint is the difficulty in removing my fingerprints from the grinder; it’s difficult to keep the grinder looking its best!

The OXO coffee grinder is relatively compact, so it should fit easily in your kitchen. The OXO coffee grinder is fitted with a timer and a one-touch start button. It means that the machine will remember your most recently used settings for the next time you make coffee.
